[ oof. so, that was a lot. this universe, whatever force controls where they're sent, who slips into what dream, what memories are twisted and twined together, seems committed to tying castiel and lexa's lives together. perhaps these gods they're seeking through realities see something in the two of them worth nurturing, and cas can't disagree. lexa's a unique, proud, capable woman with wisdom beyond her years, and cas has benefitted from that more than once now. beyond that, there's a strange parallel to them, in how they were raised, what they were taught.

if nothing else, the aerie proved to him that she's a bond worth protecting and furthering. ]

It's difficult to find words for any of what shared memories we're carrying with us now. Any besides thank you, I'm sorry, and I hope you're well.

Things like this, familial bonds and friendships, I know they were taught to you as weakness. They were to me once as well.

There's immense strength to be gained from these bonds too, Lexa. If you're willing, I'd like the chance to share that with you.
